Hello! We are Harmonium, a student-led volunteer organization launched in the summer of 2024 to support immigrant youth who have moved to Korea mid-way through their school years.
Although Korea's immigrant population is growing rapidly, deep-rooted monocultural sentiments and systemic barriers still pose significant challenges for youth of immigrant backgrounds seeking to fully integrate into society. Driven by a shared awareness of their reality, we have partnered with specialized schools and multicultural centers to provide meaningful, hands-on support.
What began as a modest fundraising initiative has now expanded into a diverse range of activities, including developing multilingual educational materials, providing 1-on-1 mentoring, and hosting cultural events. We are a truly global network, driven and operated by dedicated students from both Korea and around the world.
Our mission is to ensure that these students receive fair educational opportunities to successfully settle into Korean society, while working to dismantle social prejudices. Just as different notes come together to create a beautiful harmony, we invite you to join Harmonium on this meaningful journey!

Welcome to Harmonium.
Harmonium was founded on a simple belief: every young person deserves the opportunity to belong, learn, and thrive.
As we learned more about the experiences of immigrant and multicultural youth in South Korea, we realized that many face challenges far greater than most people imagine. For students who arrive in Korea during their school years, adapting to a new language, culture, and educational environment can be an overwhelming journey. Even everyday tasks that many of us take for granted can become significant obstacles.
These young people are not outsiders. They are members of our communities and part of Korea's future. Yet many continue to face barriers that make it difficult to fully participate in society.
Harmonium was created by students who wanted to take action. Through educational resources, mentoring programs, cultural exchange activities, and community partnerships, we strive to support immigrant and multicultural youth as they build new lives in Korea.
We believe that meaningful change does not happen through a single act of kindness. It requires sustained support, understanding, and commitment. Together, we can help create a society where every young person feels welcomed, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
